Let’s talk around bonfires
Sun. 11/22 – Mon. 11/23
While Kyoto University's chaotic NF is exciting, there are four small bonfires in the middle of the Yoshida Minami Ground. We have created a warm place where you can take a break. Even if you talk to someone, even if you stare at the flickering flames, even if you roast marshmallows...
This project was originally based on the contents of the talk session by Dr. Toru Oyamada, President of Kyoto City University of the Arts, and Dr. Tatsufumi Fujiwara of the Institute of Humanities at Kyoto University. People have lived with fire since primitive times. In the past, baths, cooking, and even lights were supported by fire. However, in modern Japan, it is not easy to use fire in the city. Even if you want to make a bonfire, if you don't go through the application of the fire station, it will be a police matter. In addition, in modern times, with the development of the Internet, there are fewer conversations between people. In such a modern world, this project is being carried out as an opportunity for people to gather naturally by daring to make a bonfire and create a once-in-lifetime encounter and dialogue. This project is now being carried out in various places, but I think the bonfires and dialogues born here at NF of Kyoto University, which have been a tradition of dialogue since its founding, will surely be wonderful.
If you surround the bonfire, you will surely have wonderful encounters and discoveries.
