About the organizer

Kyoto University Film Appreciation Club

At the Kyoto University Film Appreciation Club, we watch films of all genres from all around the world. From timeless classics to contemporary films, from comedies and romances to thrillers, documentaries, and animation, there is always something new to discover. Through cinema, we can experience a thousand different worlds, encounter unfamiliar cultures and perspectives, and learn from countless stories.

As we watch, we laugh, we cry, we shiver with fear, and find ourselves absorbed in the world unfolding on screen. A film can transport us to places we have never visited, introduce us to people we have never met, and allow us to see the world through someone else’s eyes. Some films entertain us, while others make us think, challenge our assumptions, or leave us with words of wisdom that stay with us long after the credits roll.

Whether you are a lifelong film enthusiast or simply curious to discover something new, join us as we explore the wonders of cinema together.
