Where the Soft and Sweat Things Are

Manju.

Manju that stretches easily.

Manju that rolls around.

People have always used words to describe what they see—and sometimes even what they don’t see—and have projected these images onto a screen using lines.

These bodiless things become beloved images.

There are two main ways to interact with the world of these line-drawn figures.

One is to give them physical form and have them follow the rules of perception in our physical world.

The other is for us to shed our physical forms and step into their two-dimensional world.

In this project, to emphasize the tenderness and poignancy of these line-drawn figures, we have adopted the second approach and designed and presented an installation.
