Deep-Fried Oreos
Fri. 11/20 – Mon. 11/23
What Does It Mean to Deep-Fry?
Deep-frying is a cooking method where high-temperature oil evaporates the moisture inside the food, replacing it with oil. As the water evaporates, steam bubbles form, creating tiny pockets where the oil can seep in. Because the exterior is wrapped in an oil-infused batter, the internal moisture can hardly escape, essentially creating a "steamed and baked" environment inside. The food itself is then heated via thermal conduction through the outer batter.
Deep-Fried Oreos
This means a deep-fried Oreo isn't just an Oreo wrapped in batter. Using the Oreo as a base, it becomes a completely new dessert that's entirely distinct from the original cookie. While many people have tried regular Oreos, surprisingly few have ever had a deep-fried one. With a deep-fried Oreo, you can enjoy a whole new world of texture and flavor. Plus, you get to experience that irresistible piping-hot taste unique to university festival food stalls! On top of that, we offer three different toppings, making them a colorful treat for the eyes as well.
In Conclusion
And that’s why Class 9 of the Department of Physical Engineering at Kyoto University is serving up "Kyoto Three-Color Deep-Fried Oreos"! Buy it once, and we guarantee you won't regret the flavor. Come by and give them a try!
